Grinder Pump Installation - Sewage Truck

Sewage and Basement Grinder Pump Line Installation

The staff of Directional Drilling understands how frustrating it can be if sewage problems arise. The problem you are having may result from a variety of issues, including a faulty grinder pump. Many home and business owners may not even realize they have one until they experience an overflow or sewage backup. If you find yourself in this situation, your first phone call should be to the professionals at Directional Drilling.

What Is a Grinder Pump?

A grinder pump in your wastewater system grinds up and moves water and waste away from your home and into the sewer system. The pump forces the waste upward towards the sewer system after grinding larger particles into smaller pieces that can easily flow with the water if your system is in a low-lying area.

How Does a Grinder Pump Work?

The wastewater from your home may sometimes carry particles that impede or block water flow. The holding tank that contains the grinder pump receives the water that leaves your home. The grinder pump functions like a garbage disposal, emulsifying particles that pass through it.

The grinder acts like a garbage disposal, emulsifying any particles that pass through it. The pump activates when the water reaches a certain height and forces it through. Then, the pump moves the water toward the sewer system, carrying it away.

What Happens When a Grinder Pump Fails

When a grinder pump fails, it can cause the holding tank to overflow. If water continues to flow into the tank, you will eventually experience a backup of waste in your home. Most grinder pumps have an alarm system to alert you when something goes wrong. If the alarm is triggered, immediately turn off the water and call the professionals who deal with grinder pumps and sewer line issues.

With our state-of-the-art equipment, we can make repairing or replacing grinder pumps much easier. At Directional Drilling, we can assist plumbers and contractors who work with sewer lines and holding tanks. If one or the other needs to be repaired or replaced, we can help with those tasks.

What Our Customers are Saying

Jon and team did an exceptional job installing an underground drain to assist in the management of rain water on our property. The team had a challenging task that required them to drill under pool pipes and gas lines, they were exceptionally conscience with precise attention to detail. When the job was completed you could hardly tell that they had been out to do the work. They thoroughly cleaned up the area and left it in better condition than it was before they started. I highly recommend their service for any underground drilling work you may have.

These professional/experienced guys are the “Dream Team” of directional drillers. They were the ONLY DRILLERS who communicated and were willing to accomplish the task and actually showed up to drill and install a drain line & well line to resolve our flooding basement issues and add our second well. They drilled through PA bedrock that was incredibly challenging, but they persisted with confidence and got the job done! This is the one call we are glad we made. We cannot thank them enough (and we missed them when the job ended). This is the business and these are the guys I would choose again for all my directional drilling needs. Their name says it all.

The reviews are accurate, and then some! The folks at Directional Drilling Inc put a 3″ pipe about 90 feet under my house, around my pool and ended up EXACTLY where they were supposed to, inside my sump pump pit. John and his crew were professional, courteous, on-time and communicated with me the entire project. They talked out everything with me and let me ask all of my stupid questions (and were nice about it!). I can’t recommend Directional Drilling Inc highly enough.
